January 2020

Hello All,

Sorry for the email silence but it has been a rough couple of months. Now that the holidays are over and the fall conference season has wrapped up we can look forward to an exciting leap year 2020!

I want to again thank all who attended and also sponsored the PaSgna 2019 educational meeting. I especially want to thank Patty Vaccarello and Christina Maye for all the hard work and countless hours they put into making our annual meeting fantastic!

Remember to renew your membership. If you are due for recertification and need help finding some of your contact hours send me an email and I will try to help.

Several members and non-members have expressed a desire to take the certification course. If you are in the Pittsburgh area I have been thinking about setting up a study group and we could meet 3-4 times/month and start reviewing the material (more often if needed).  If you plan to take the certification exam in the spring you will need to register between Jan 13, 2020, and Feb. 29, 2020. There is also a 2-day review course in Minnesota Feb. 29 – Mar 1. As soon as I have more details I will pass them along.  Please email me with any thoughts or questions.

Is anyone doing anything in their offices, ASC’s or hospital labs that you want to share? It can be educational, a “just good to know” or a funny story. Are you having trouble recruiting and or retaining staff?

We are always looking for meeting suggestions!  If you are in a position to help organize please contact me or your regional chair. If this is your first time planning an event you can consider making it a vendor-sponsored meeting, they are a great help and resource.

Finally, the PaSGNA and SGNA offer many different scholarships and very few people take advantage.   You can find this information on the PASGNA website and also the SGNA web site.

Fondly, Pam
