Happy New Year! Membership News 2019

Posted about 1 year ago by Pamela Nero

Hello Members,

Hope you all had a great holiday season and are having a great start to 2019!

With the start of the New Year I want to welcome back Victoria Farr (our new Central Divisional Chair) and Patty Vaccarello (our new Western Divisional Chair). These gals have been involved with the PaSGNA and SGNA in one aspect or another for a very long time. They are a great and exciting addition to the PaSGNA board.

I also would like to send out my heartfelt thank you to Andrea Decker and Sharon Culp for providing great leadership and enthusiasm for GI during their tenure on the board.

Remember to renew your membership as soon as possible. Expiring members will drop off the email list in three months. (If you know of anyone not receiving emails, please have them check the SGNA site under “my sgna”)

The National SGNA conference is just around the corner. This year it is in Portland, Oregon! Meeting dates are April 14th-16th; pre meeting dates are 12th and 13th, 2019.  This is a great time to learn and connect with other GI professional like you.  If you are presenting please let me know so I can pass the word along. If you are an active PaSGNA member, remember we have scholarships available on the website.

If you are unable to attend the National Conference you may want to consider The Hopkins International Therapeutic Endoscopy Course April 3-5, 2019 In Baltimore, MD

The Western division is hosting a meeting on Tuesday February 12, 2019, the topic is:   Infection Control in Reprocessing Flexible Endoscopes. Olympus is giving the lecture so you will have to register with Patty Vaccarello and with Olympus.

(I attached brochures to both conferences in this email as well as on the website)

Things I would like to work on for 2019 is offering contact hours through webinars and journal articles. I will also look into submitting all contact hours for the conferences to the Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution so the Endoscopy techs will meet their requirements.

Finally, Western will be hosting the PaSGNA conference this year. Still working on dates but we will be co-hosting with AGN-Allegheny. Details to come.

Please encourage your colleagues to get involved. I think this is going to be an exciting and great New Year!

Fondly, Pam
